MJ Arsenal Steamboat 10cm Glass Bubbler

The MJ Arsenal Steamboat Bubbler is a seriously compact little water pipe that manages to squeeze proper bubbler functionality into a piece measuring just under 10cm.

Part of MJ Arsenal's Alpine collection, the Steamboat combines clear borosilicate glass with milled black walnut accents around the base and mouthpiece. It gives the bubbler a completely different look to the usual all-glass pipe without getting overly flashy.

At approximately 9.9cm x 9.4cm, it fits comfortably in the hand while still giving you a genuine water chamber, built-in bowl and carb-controlled airflow.

Take a look through our MJ Arsenal collection to find more glassware from the brand, or browse our full range of glass bubblers if you want to compare different shapes and sizes.

Small Bubbler, Proper Water Filtration

The Steamboat sits neatly between a dry hand pipe and a conventional bong.

You get the compact proportions and simple handling of a pipe, but with a small water chamber that allows the smoke to pass through water before reaching the mouthpiece.

That makes it a useful choice if you like the idea of water filtration but don't necessarily want a tall bong sitting around.

Borosilicate Glass & Black Walnut

The main body is made from 100% borosilicate glass, while milled black walnut is used for the Steamboat's distinctive Alpine detailing.

Borosilicate glass is commonly used for quality smoking accessories because of its resistance to heat and normal temperature changes. It is still glass, though, so it isn't unbreakable and should be protected from drops and hard impacts.

The walnut gives the Steamboat a warmer, more understated finish and provides a nice contrast against the clear glass chamber.

Compact 10cm Design

MJ Arsenal lists the Steamboat at approximately 3.9 x 3.7 inches, which works out at around 9.9 x 9.4cm.

That small footprint is one of its biggest attractions. It takes up very little space compared with a traditional bong and is easy to hold, store and move around.

Its wider proportions also mean it doesn't feel like an elongated pipe despite its compact overall size.

18mm Bowl & Left-Side Carb

The Steamboat features an approximately 18mm built-in bowl and a carb positioned on the left-hand side of the piece.

The carb lets you control the airflow with a fingertip. Cover it while drawing through the mouthpiece, then release it when you want to increase airflow and clear the remaining smoke.

Because the bowl is incorporated directly into the bubbler, there is no separate flower bowl or downstem to keep track of.

Made for Easier Cleaning

One particularly useful feature of the Steamboat is that the walnut sections can be treated separately from the glass when it comes to cleaning.

MJ Arsenal recommends cleaning the borosilicate glass with isopropyl alcohol, while the non-glass sections can be wiped using a microfiber cloth with warm, soapy water.

This is important because you don't want to soak the walnut pieces in alcohol every time you give the bubbler a proper clean.

MJ Arsenal Steamboat Bubbler FAQs

How big is the MJ Arsenal Steamboat Bubbler?

It measures approximately 9.9cm x 9.4cm, or 3.9 x 3.7 inches, making it a particularly compact water bubbler.

Does the Steamboat Bubbler use water?

Yes. The Steamboat has a small water chamber that filters the smoke before it travels through the mouthpiece.

What is the Steamboat made from?

The main body is made from 100% borosilicate glass with milled black walnut detailing.

What size is the bowl?

Current specifications list the built-in bowl at approximately 18mm.

Does the Steamboat have a carb?

Yes. It has a carb positioned on the left-hand side for fingertip airflow control.

Is the bowl removable?

No. The bowl is built into the Steamboat rather than using a separate removable flower bowl.

Is the Steamboat a bong or a pipe?

It is best described as a bubbler. A bubbler combines the compact handheld format of a pipe with a small water chamber for filtration, rather than using the larger chamber and removable bowl arrangement commonly found on a bong.

How much water should I put in the Steamboat?

Only a small amount is required. Add enough for the internal airflow to pass through the water, then test the draw. If water reaches the mouthpiece, reduce the level slightly.

Can I clean the entire bubbler with isopropyl alcohol?

No. MJ Arsenal recommends using isopropyl alcohol on the borosilicate glass, while the other sections should be cleaned with a microfiber cloth and warm, soapy water.
