Hemper Lucky Cat Glass Bong, 14cm, with Stem Diffuser

The Hemper Glass Bong Lucky Cat is a 14cm novelty glass bong shaped as a Maneki-neko figurine, with the cat's raised arm doubling as the bowl intake and a stem diffuser for smoother draws. At 5mm thick, it's a proper little piece: compact enough for a desk, sturdy enough for daily use.

• Maneki-neko figurine form makes the raised arm a functional bowl intake
• Stem diffuser breaks up smoke for noticeably smoother draws
• 5mm glass walls give this compact piece real everyday durability
• 14cm height and 6.35cm diameter keep it desk-friendly and easy to store
• Cat face decals and sculpted scarf detail make it a proper display piece too

Hemper's Lucky Cat is a glass bong built around the Maneki-neko, the beckoning cat figurine that's been a symbol of good fortune across East Asia for centuries. Hemper took that iconic shape and made it fully functional: the cat's raised arm is the bowl intake, the body holds the water chamber, and a built-in stem diffuser sits below the waterline to break up smoke before it reaches you. It's a proper bong that happens to look brilliant on a shelf.

The stem diffuser is the detail that separates this from a purely decorative piece. By splitting the smoke into smaller bubbles as it passes through the water, it cools and smooths each draw noticeably. You won't get the filtration of a multi-chamber percolator bong, but for a 14cm piece this size, the diffuser does real work. Compact bongs often skip it entirely. Hemper didn't.

At 14cm tall and 6.35cm across, it fits comfortably on a desk or a small shelf without taking over the space. The 5mm glass walls are thicker than you'd expect at this size: most novelty bongs in this format use thinner glass and feel fragile for it. The extra thickness means it handles daily use without needing to be treated like a display-only piece, which is exactly the point. Cat face decals and a sculpted scarf detail give it the visual finish, but the build underneath is solid.

If you're weighing this against a standard straight-tube mini bong, the trade-off is straightforward. A plain tube is easier to clean, because the figurine shape means the interior has more curves to reach. The Lucky Cat gives you the diffuser, the thicker glass, and something that genuinely looks like it belongs in your setup rather than just sitting next to it.

Cleaning is worth thinking about before you buy. The figurine shape means a standard pipe brush won't reach every part of the interior as easily as it would with a straight tube. Isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt shaken through the chamber works well, and a smaller brush or cotton bud handles the arm section where the bowl sits. It's a bit more faff than a plain piece, but nothing that makes it impractical for regular use.

The Maneki-neko design also makes this an easy pick as a gift for someone who's into their kit but also appreciates something with a bit of character. It sits in that useful overlap between a functional daily piece and something you'd actually want on display. Not many bongs at this size manage both.

Specifications

The Lucky Cat's numbers are small by design. At 14cm tall and 6.35cm across, it fits on a shelf, a bedside table or a desk without taking over the space. That compact footprint is the whole point for anyone who wants a proper glass piece without dedicating a shelf to it. The 5mm glass walls are the spec worth pausing on: at this size, thicker glass means the bong feels solid in hand rather than fragile, which matters when you're picking up and putting down a figurine-shaped piece more often than a straight tube. The built-in stem diffuser breaks the draw into smaller bubbles, smoothing each hit without needing a separate percolator attachment. Compact size, decent wall thickness and a diffuser that does its job.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Hemper Lucky Cat bong actually functional, or is it just a display piece?

It's a fully functional glass bong. The Hemper Lucky Cat 14cm uses the beckoning cat figurine's raised arm as the bowl intake, with a built-in stem diffuser to break up smoke and smooth out each draw. The 5mm glass walls make it sturdy enough for regular use, not just shelf sitting. It's compact at 14cm tall, so it works well as a desktop piece.

Are Hemper bongs good quality?

The Lucky Cat 14cm gives a good sense of what Hemper does: playful designs built to actually work as a bong, not just look good on a shelf. The 5mm glass thickness is a solid spec for a bong this size (thicker than many budget mini pieces), and the stem diffuser is a functional addition rather than just decorative. The figurine form is the draw, but Hemper builds it to work properly as a bong.

How does the Lucky Cat bong compare to a standard mini glass bong?

The main difference is the form factor. A standard straight-tube mini bong has a conventional bowl and downstem setup. The Hemper Lucky Cat integrates the bowl into the figurine's raised arm, which is a unique structural choice. It also has a built-in stem diffuser to smooth each draw, plus the Maneki-neko design and cat face decals, so you get a compact piece with a lot more personality.

What size is the Hemper Lucky Cat bong, and will it fit on a small shelf?

The Hemper Lucky Cat bong is 14cm tall and 6.35cm (2.5 inches) in diameter. That's a genuinely compact footprint: it'll sit comfortably on a desk, bedside table or small shelf without taking over. If you're used to full-size bongs, it's a noticeably smaller piece, which is part of the appeal for anyone with limited space or who wants something discreet.

Is the Lucky Cat bong a good gift for someone who collects novelty pieces?

It's a solid novelty bong option for a collector. The Hemper Lucky Cat 14cm is based on the Maneki-neko (beckoning cat), a recognised symbol in Japanese culture, so it carries a bit of cultural weight beyond just being a quirky shape. The cat face decals and sculpted scarf detail make it display-worthy, and at 14cm it's small enough to sit alongside other pieces without dominating a collection.
